Krishi Tantra Niketan is the agriculture polytechnic of V. M. Patil Krushi Pratishthan at Asangaon, Taluka Dahanu, District Palghar. Established in 2008 as the trust’s first institution, it teaches a three-year Diploma in Agriculture affiliated to Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli.
Krishi Tantra Niketan is where the trust began. It was set up in 2008 to give the sons and daughters of Dahanu’s farming and tribal families a technical qualification in the work their families already did — and a route out of subsistence cultivation into agronomy, horticulture and agri-business.
The three-year diploma is affiliated to Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth at Dapoli, the Konkan agricultural university. Teaching runs across soil science, crop production, horticulture, plant protection and dairying, and the campus itself is the laboratory: a working chikoo orchard, a nursery, polyhouses and a cold storage and ripening chamber.
A three-year technical diploma covering soil science, seed production, crop husbandry, horticulture, plant protection and dairy farming, with practicals on the trust’s own orchard, nursery and polyhouses.
A pass at 10th standard (S.S.C.). The diploma runs for three years, and there is direct lateral entry into the second and third year for candidates who qualify.
